Hanieh Nematollahi

Brief info

Hanieh Nematollahi was born in 1980 in Iran. She is a women's rights activist and political and social advocate who has been living in Stockholm, Sweden for three years, where she continues her work in human rights, gender equality, and the fight against the death penalty.

Hanieh is an active member of the Gender Apartheid campaign, the International Committee Against Executions, and the No to Executions Tuesdays initiative. Prior to her migration, she was already engaged in political and social activism inside Iran, carrying that commitment with her into exile.

Her work is grounded in the defense of women's rights, freedom, and human dignity. Through civic and social engagement, she strives to raise public awareness about human rights violations and to stand firmly against the use of the death penalty as a tool of oppression.

Hanieh Nematollahi represents a generation of Iranian women who refused to be silenced, inside Iran or beyond its borders.
